In 2004 GfG took over the “Alte Feuerwache / Zollamt” (Old Fire Station / Customs Office) building at the wood and factory port in Bremen-Überseestadt. The restoration of the building, which was erected in 1907, was planned and conducted by GfG’s own architecture department.
The location by the water, the option of combining offices and studios under one roof and the interlinking with other companies in the creative field in its own building entail crucial advantages: short paths, a great deal of exchange, sufficient freedom and a wonderful view – a good basis for interdisciplinary work.
In our immediate neighbourhood, in the historic Speicher XI, is the University of the Arts Bremen – which includes the Department of Art and Design among its faculties. Right in front of our door, at the pier of the Rolandmühle, overseas freighters dock every day to unload their cargo. It smells of harbour and the big wide world. We love this location.
